”I understand young people, their families and the unique pressures that can confront them”.
About The Principal
It was my unwavering passion for representing and defending children, young people and families alike that led me to establish Perin Legal, a boutique law practice specialising in children’s law, criminal law and family law. My own experiences and those of my clients identified that there was a real opportunity – and a real need – for a seamless nexus of legal services.
Prior to entering the legal profession, I worked as a high school teacher with at risk students and their families. This experience furnished me with valuable insights into the complex home environments in which many children, young people and families co-exist. I came to understand and respect the difficulties and tensions that they face daily, which sometimes result in the breakdown of the family unit or require the interaction of the police.
Legal Experience
Since my admission I have worked for a variety of private practices; specifically in care and protection, criminal law and family law. I gained a reputation of being a fearless and passionate lawyer due to my successful representation of young people, adults and families across a broad range of matters at the Children’s Court, Local Court, District Court, Family Court and Supreme Court of NSW.
Through such achievements, I have developed a strong and respectful working relationship with a formidable team of barristers and medical professionals, affording my clients the best possible representations if warranted.
Profile
Juris Doctor, (J.D.), Bachelor Of Education (B. of Ed).
I completed my legal studies at the University of Technology of Sydney and I’m an admitted Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
Since my admission, I have intentionally focused on children’s law, criminal law and family law, putting to good use my experience from my former profession as a high school teacher. As a single parent, I have first-hand knowledge of the trials and tribulations that a family law matter presents.
Continuing Professional Education
In addition to my legal practice, I remain committed to furthering my own legal education through active involvement in formal continuing professional development programs at the Law Society of New South Wales and the City of Sydney Law Society. My goal is to become an Accredited Specialist in Children’s Law.
